The customer reached out because they needed a 25-yard range to conduct qualification training more efficiently. Their current process required sending officers to outside facilities on their days off, resulting in excessive overtime costs and limited scheduling flexibility.
They were looking for a solution that would allow officers to qualify and train during their shifts, eliminating those inefficiencies. A non-permanent, relocatable system was important so the range could be moved if operational needs changed.
Key requirements included a fully enclosed ballistic containment system, effective sound control due to their sensitive location, and strict air quality standards to ensure a safe training environment for all personnel.
We provided a Double Road King, a system built from two connected 53' dry van trailers to create full 25-yard shooting lanes in a mobile, non-permanent configuration.
This setup includes a dedicated control room, allowing the Range Safety Officer to operate training safely while being protected from direct exposure and excessive noise. The range is equipped with a sloped rubber ballistic trap for reliable bullet containment and long-term durability under repeated use.
To meet environmental and operational requirements, the system incorporates an industry-leading particle filtration system with 99.97% to 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 microns, along with 2” sound foam to help manage and reduce sound levels in sensitive locations.
The range is also equipped with the Caliber Turning Target Retrieval System with Master Control, enabling the RSO to control all targets from a central interface. This system allows targets to face and edge automatically on timed intervals, simplifying qualification courses while creating more dynamic and realistic training scenarios.
The result is a fully contained, relocatable 25-yard range that allows officers to qualify and train on-site, reducing overtime costs while maintaining strict safety, sound, and air quality standards.
