The customer reached out because they wanted to add a shooting range to their gun shop, allowing customers to test firearms on-site rather than sending them to a competitor’s facility.
They recognized that sending buyers elsewhere created a risk of losing sales and wanted to keep the entire experience in-house. Their goal was to provide added value to customers while strengthening their own sales process.
Key priorities included an affordable solution that could be implemented without excessive overhead, along with a system that maintained a high level of safety, reliability, and ease of use for both staff and customers.
We provided a factory refurbished 40' pistol-rated container range, designed for common pistol calibers (up to 1,250 FPS, not rifle-caliber pistols), delivering a cost-effective and safe in-house shooting solution.
The range includes two shooting lanes with dedicated shooting booths and fold-up shooter shelves that store flush against the wall for flexibility. Hinged barricades are installed in front of the shooting positions to support more dynamic training and customer use.
To ensure a clean and comfortable environment, the system is equipped with MRT HEPA air filtration with a 4-ton AC/heat pump and pass-through air, providing 100% outdoor air across the shooter line. Interior noise and comfort are managed with spray foam insulation, 2” sound foam on the ceiling, and 1.5” sound-absorbing rubber on the walls (firing line forward).
Additional features include a rubber floor for durability and safety, along with easy-to-clean stainless steel surfaces up to the firing line. The system operates on a single-phase 50 Amp 208/220 circuit, avoiding the need for costly electrical upgrades.
The result is a practical, budget-conscious solution that allows the customer to bring shooting capabilities in-house quickly while maintaining safety, functionality, and reliability.
