Job completed for Gun Store

Completion date: February 15, 2023

Location: Carthage, MO

Why did the customer contact us?

A gun store contacted MRT Range looking for a way to expand their business by adding an indoor shooting range to their facility. They wanted a solution that would create an additional revenue stream, increase customer traffic, improve customer retention, and provide a safe environment for firearm demonstrations, training, and product testing. The customer also needed a range system that could be installed quickly without the long construction timelines, high costs, and operational disruptions associated with traditional indoor range construction.

Solutions provided:

MRT Range provided the customer with a 40’ Groundhog turnkey indoor shooting range solution designed to deliver a professional shooting experience while maximizing operational efficiency and long-term value. The Groundhog features a fully enclosed ballistic steel shooting environment utilizing ballistic steel that is 7.62x51mm 149 grain, M80 FMJ tested, providing enhanced durability and safety for both customers and staff.

The range includes an Industry Leading particle filtration system with 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 microns and a fully enclosed design, helping maintain cleaner indoor air quality for shooters and employees. Advanced acoustic sound attenuation reduces exterior sound levels to approximately 76 dB, minimizing noise concerns for neighboring businesses and surrounding areas.

The integrated sloped rubber berm bullet trap system helps reduce lead fragmentation while simplifying maintenance and cleanup. The range also includes Caliber Target Retrieval Systems for reliable target operation, a mini split heat and air conditioning system for year-round comfort, electronic locking systems for controlled access, sealed rubber flooring for durability and ease of cleaning, and a fully enclosed insulated structure designed for continuous commercial use.

Because the 40’ Groundhog operates on a Single Phase 50 Amp 208/220 RV-style power connection, the customer avoided the added expense and complexity associated with competitors requiring 3-phase power infrastructure. The modular design also allowed for faster deployment and reduced construction delays compared to traditional stick-built ranges.

The final result gave the gun store a turnkey indoor range solution that increased customer engagement, supported firearm sales and training opportunities, created recurring revenue potential, and provided a safer, more professional shooting environment for their customers.
